ABSENT FRIENDS
Given the longevity of Spoofing worldwide, it is a sad inevitability that we will have lost some very fine gentlemen from the Spoofing Fraternity. There is always a toast to absent friends at a Spoofing competition. The passing of one of New Zealand’s stalwart Spoofers, Mr Richard “Bert” Lancaster, who had become a Legend due to his participation at as many Spoofing events and Championships as his declining health would allow, led to the decision to hold a special Spoofing Championship, hastily convened, at the Chapter Arms, Chartham Hatch near Canterbury, Kent. The event was hosted by David Durell (sadly now among the listed), himself a long time legend of the game and dedicated to the memory of Spoofers who have passed away and who may now be enjoying playing the game in the snug bar in the sky ... Listed below are the names of those we have lost and will continue to toast on into the future.
