CHRISTMAS DOUBLES SPOOFING — THE HOLLYWOOD ARMS

Christmas is a time for giving, goodwill and spending time with people you love. Fortunately, we’ve arranged an alternative.

Ladies and gentlemen are cordially invited to the Hollywood Arms, Chelsea, for an evening of doubles spoofing, the only festive partnership likely to end with someone saying, “I specifically told you not to fucking call seven.”

Doubles adds an exciting dimension to the traditional game, you can now lose through absolutely no fault of your own. Choose your partner carefully. Ideally, someone who can count, keep a secret and accept full responsibility for your mistakes.

The venue is conveniently located in one of the original homes of Spoofing, the famous Hollywood Arms, which in case you don't know is opposite Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, giving competitors access to specialist treatment should they choke in the final. Bruised egos will be treated at the bar. Long-standing grievances should be referred back to whoever witnessed the incident in 2008.

Refreshments, canapés and supper will be provided. Please remember that a canapé is a small item of food, not a reason to tell everyone about your place in France.

There will also be paparazzi, so anyone attending with a partner they haven’t declared at home should make their own arrangements.

Points and prizes are on offer, along with the opportunity to spend the next twelve months referring to yourself as an international athlete in situations where nobody has asked.

Festive goodwill will be observed until the first disputed call, after which normal service will resume.
