Current champion Vince Swift is pleased to invite you to participate in the 2026 Absent Friends Spoofing Championship in order to commemorate those spoofers who have sadly passed, as we traditionally do at this time of year.

Details & Registration
The Absent Friends' Memorial Spoof will be held in Canterbury on Friday 6th November 2026, same venue and format and as last year.
Time: 12 noon for 12.45 Spoof-Off
Venue: Alberrys Wine Bar, 38 St Margaret's Street, Canterbury, Kent CT1 2TY
Cost: £50 (again, same as last year - thank you Mrs Graham)
The cost of the event will include lunch & half bottle of wine, plus 3 drinks tokens (beer).
Here are the lunch options:
Option 1
Bangers & Mash
Local sausages, creamy mash, green veg and rich onion gravy
Option 2
Beef Stew
Beef and Guinness Stew with dumplings, mash and greens.
Option 3
Fish & Chips
Fish Goujons in beer batter, chunky chips, mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce.
All three options are followed by a Kentish Cheese Board; Bowyers Brie, Kingcott Blue, Canterbury Cobble and Rosewood Red.
Served with grapes, chutney and crackers.

The Spoof will be conducted under Northern Hemisphere Rules, namely “Mugs Away”. Whoever has that particular honour may call or nominate.
